The point of the gift was because a soc is basically a required stat on a wep. So it just aliviated a bit of the rng for that. A soc is hardly even a desirable stat for off hands. It's not like I'd complain if they did change it so you could gift off hands.

I know it’s better to have that affix in series, but the idea would be to give more powers to rings and amulets. The guaranteed plugs is always better.Even if the drop rate of an Angelic Crucible is roughly the same as Ramaladni’s Gift, by week 3-4, you will probably have more enough Crucibles to last you through the rest of the season. And by rare, I mean it can happen right away (lottery luck), or you can hit Paragon 800 and not have one yet (coal in the holiday stocking luck). They won’t drop prior to Torment 1 though as they are a Torment only flagged drop AFAIK. You’ll just have to keep killing monsters and hoping one ....
